HARMONY FARM MARKET; a combination gourmet shop, restaurant, bakery, catering company, market seeks an enthusiastic, creative kitchen assistant f or the 2008 summer season. Nestled in the heart of Kawartha Lakes cottage country between Bobcaygeon and Haliburton, we serve a broad client base; from corporate to cottage owner and provide a wide selection of foods to appeal to all palates. Our kitchen assistant will be an energetic, enthusiastic individual with a sense of humour and a strong work ethic; an outgoing and team oriented individual capable of working independently as required. We provide an excellent opportunity for you to learn and to polish existing skills in an entrepreneurial environment with a focus on quality and client satisfaction.
Duties include; food preparation, line work, front counter assistance, portioning, packaging, and customer service.
Responsibilities include; support to two chefs for both the restaurant and bakery functions, preliminary through to final preparation of baked goods, and foods served on the restaurant and to go menu, assistance with clean up, and any other duties required to ensure that our restaurant presents and delivers the best quality food and service available in our part of the province.
Requirements: Suitable candidates will be currently enrolled in (or a graduate of) a culinary arts program and have some industry experience, excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task, strong communication skills, a strong customer service focus, and valid driver’s license. The desire to learn and grow with us is essential to your success in this position and we are willing to work with someone who may have less experience than other candidates if they display an aptitude for what we do and have the willingness to work in an informal, fast paced environment.
